Crystal Velasquez is the author of Hunters of Chaos, the Your Life, but... series (Your Life, but Sweeter; Your Life, but Cooler; and Your Life, but Better), and four books in the Maya & Miguel series (Paint the Town; The Valentine Machine; Neighborhood Friends; and My Twin Brother/My Twin Sister). Born and raised in New York City, she holds a B.A. in creative writing from Penn State University and is a graduate of NYU's Summer Publishing Institute. By day she is a production editor at Penguin Random House and a freelance proofreader. She lives in Flushing, Queens.
